Weeping & The Weep

Sayyidina Ali R.A. said :
“There are three types of weeping : (1) weeping because of afraid toward the punishment of Allah SWT, (2) weeping because of afraid toward the anger of Allah SWT, (3) weeping because of afraid of disconnecting from the mercy of Allah SWT.
The first weep can erase all kind of sins.
The second wee can clean out all kind of disgraces.
The third weep can near you to the bless of Allah SWT.
The fruit of being erased from all kind of sins is safe from all kind of torture.
The fruit of being clean out from all kind of disgraces is obtaining eternal enjoyments and higher level from Allah SWT.
The fruit of being near to the bless of Allah SWT is directly receiving cheefullness from Allah SWT by having His bless and able to meet Allah directly, having the honor visit from Angels, and other affluent of kind rewards from Allah SWT.”

About Laugh & Joke

Muhammad The Prophet Salallahu Alaihi Wassalam said : “Avoid by you often laugh, because actually often laugh that can turn off the heart and can eliminate the authority .” [reported from Abu Dzar RA]

“Joke that is the devil's mutiny that will bring misfortune on little by little and am lust deceit.”

Umar bin Abdul Aziz said “Do not do much humour, because it is a stupidity that can birth malicious and can turn the heart into stone.”

Al Mawardi said in his prose :
Joke is initially sweety
But ending with acrid hostility
An upstanding person would avoid it
But a despicable person would like it

Beware of Ourselves Since Morning

Reported from Rasulullah SAW, Muhammad the Prophet, said :
Those who, in the morning, are complaining their live difficulties [to others] means as if they were complaining Allah SWT.
Those who, in the morning, are sad because of their business in their world, means, in the morning, they are really not satisfied to the Divine Decree [Qadha] of Allah SWT.
Those who, in the morning, respect others because of the wealthiness and the prosperities, indeed one third of their religion has vanished.

Doing complaint on bad fate of a person to others is a sign of not accepting unconditionally on parts of lives given by Allah SWT. One must not do the complaint itself, unless only to Allah SWT, then such habit are called Prays.

It is as mentioned in a hadith narrated from Abdullah bin Mas’ud RA that Rasulullah SAW [Muhammad the Prophet] said : would you like if I teach you some of Mose’s says when he accrosed the sea with Bani Israil ?. We [his best friends] answered : of couse we would like to, ya Rasulullah. Then he said : read "Allahumma lakal hamdu wa ilaikan musytakaa, wa antal musta'aan, wa laa haula wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil 'Aliyyil 'Azhiim" [O Allah, all praise only for You, only to You we complaint, and only to You we ask help. No power and strength, unless the help of Allah The Highest and The Greatest].

A person who in the morning feels sad because of his/her world’s business, is said as a person who hate his/her Lord Majesty. It represents his denial toward the Lord’s Divine Decree, not being patient on the Lord’s trials, and not believe in the Lord’s Will [Qadr]. Whereas all happened in this world is based on the Divine Decree [Qadha] and the Will [Qadr] of Allah SWT, The Lord Majesty.

A person is forbidden to respect others because of his/her heritage. Based on Allah’s Law [syariat], a person may only respect others because of his/her devotion to Allah and his/her knowledges [Ilm]. People who value heritage above all, means he/she has insulted Knowledge and Devotion.

Shaikh Abdul Qadir Al Jaelani, may Allah SWT purify his secrets, said :
A Believer [Mukmin] should not release from three things :
1. Doing the Order of Allah SWT;
2. Avoiding the Forbidden of Allah SWT;
3. Accepting the Divine Decree [Qadha] and the Will [Qadr] of Allah SWT.

For Knowledge to be Benefit

Reported that years ago in the era of Bani Israil, there was a man who had 80 carriage full of read books. However, he did not obtain any benefit from the knowledge.

Then Allah SWT Delivered Words into his Prophet to send them to the man : “Though you are gathering much knowledges, it will not benefit you, unless you do three things. They are :

FiRSt
Do not love the world, because the world is not the place for the Believer [Mukmin] who will received the Rewards from the Lord Majesty.

SeCoNd
Do not make friend with evil and devil, because they are not Friends of the Believers [Mukmin].

ThIrD
Do not annoying people, because it is not an activity of the Believers [Mukmin]"

The Meaning of Love (Mahabbah)

How many women in our time seek to fill an emptiness within themselves with a love based upon an attachment to something or someone within the creation. Allah SWT, The Highest Lord Majesty, has placed in everyone that Allah SWT has created, a heart which must be filled; either with submission and servitude to Allah SWT, or submission and servitude to other than Allah SWT. Every single heart has feelings, desires and inclinations.

The question is “Will those feelings, desires and inclinations be directed towards Allah SWT alone, or will they be directed to other than Allah SWT ?. Only the former truly being the subjugation and servitude of the heart to Allah SWT.

The ‘Ubudiyyah of the heart to things other than Allah SWT are many. Sometimes it is submission and servitude to money, sometimes to power and position, sometimes to women (or men); and other such things people covet very much. However, whatever they covet can either lessen their submission and worship of Allah SWT, or completely nullify it!. [‘Enslavement of the Heart' by Sheikh Sulayman as-Sulaymee: al-Ibanah Issue No.1 1415].

So the first and foremost source of the peace and contentment that they are searching for within their lives- can only come from their love of Allah, and the attachment to everyone and everything that that love requires and demands of them.

Abu Bakr al-Kataanee said “A discussion about love (mahabbah) took place in Makkah, during pilgrimage season. The Shaykhs who were present spoke about this topic, and al-junayd being the youngest of them. They said to him: “What do you say, 0h 'Iraaqee?”, So al-Junayd lowered his head and tears were gushing from his eyes, then he said “"A servant should overcome his soul, And be continuous in the remembrance of his Lord, Establishing the rights of his Lord, focusing upon Allah SWT with his heart, The light of fear setting ablaze his heart, Wilst drinking from the vessel of pure love, And certain hidden realities being unveiled for him. So when he talks, it is due to Allah, When he speaks, it is from Allah, When he moves, it is by the Command of Allah, And when he is serene, then it is from Allah, He belongs to Allah, is for Allah and is with Allah.” Upon hearing this, the Shaykhs all started weeping, and they said “There is nothing left to add to that, may Allah SWT reward you 0h Crown of the Knowledgeable Ones.”

The Test of True Love

In Fath ul-Majeed Sharh Kitaab at-Tawheed (pp.470-473) Shaykh 'Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Hasan said “"Allah SWT - The Highest Lord Majesty – says “'Say: If you do love Allah, follow me, and Allah will love you.”[Qor’an Surah Ali Imran ayat 31]. This ayat is also known as Ayaatul-Mababbah (the ayat about love).

Some of the Salaf (pious predecessors) have said: “The people claimed that they loved Allah SWT, so Allah SWT - The Highest Lord Majesty - revealed the ayat about mahabbah (love): Say: “If you do love Allah, follow me, and Allah will love you.”.” [al-Hasan al-Basree, reported in Tafseer Ibn Katheer (1/366)].

So this ayat indicates the proofs and evidences for love (mahabbah), and its fruits and its benefits. So from the proofs of love (mahabbah) and its clear signs is to follow the Messenger [Prophet Muhammad SAW]; and from its fruits and its benefits is: that Allah will love you. So whosoever does not seek to follow the Prophet [Muhammad SAW], then such a person will not attain the love of Allah.”

So only question that remains is how can we find or develop this true love? Ibn al-Qayyim (rahim'ullaah) says: “The reasons which cause Mahabbah (love) of Allah SWT to develop, are :

1. Reciting the Qur'aan, reflecting and understanding its meaning and its intent.

2. Drawing closer to Allah SWT, The Highest Lord Majesty, through optional deeds, after fulfilling the obligatory duties.

3. Being continuous in the dzikr (remembrance) of Allah SWT, with the tongue, the heart and the limbs - under all circumstances. The more constant the dzikr, the more love develops and intensifies.

4. Giving precedence to what Allah SWT loves over personal loves, when being overcome by desires.

5. Recognizing and remembering the favors and bounties of Allah SWT both the manifest and hidden.

6. To be humble and submissive before Allah SWT - and this is the greatest matter.

7. To be in seclusion reciting the Qur'an, during that time in which Allah SWT descends to the lowest heaven (which is the last third of every night), finishing this recitation with seeking Allah's forgiveness and repenting to Allah SWT.

8. Sit in the gatherings of the true and sincere lovers of Allah SWT, reaping the fruits of their speech, and not to speak except if there is benefit in it and that you know that such talk will increase you in goodness and that it will benefit others as well.

9. Stay clear of all those causes which distances the heart from Allah SWT, The Mighty and Majestic.

So these are the reasons which cause the person to develop true love for Allah SWT and to reach the rank of al-mahabbah, by which he reaches his Beloved.” [Madaarijus-Saalikeen (3/17-18).]

So our dear sisters, hold fast to these! Implement them, call to them, weave them into the fabric of your lives- and insya Allah you will come to know the meaning of 'True Love'.

A Mu’min [Believer] is A Mirror to A Mu’min [Believer]

The Prophet Muhammad SAW said that a Mu'min is a mirror to a Mu'min.

The quality of mirror :

FiRsT
For it to show the actual image of a person, a mirror must be clean and clear itself. Thus a Mu'min or Mu’minah is required to purify his/her heart, thoughts and actions, to qualify to be a mirror of her/his brother or sister.

SeConD
A mirror always shows you, your actual image. It doesn't hide your imperfections (May Allah SWT forgive us for using this term for His perfect creation). The mirror isn't in a quest to make us happy or sad by showing us otherwise. It simply reflects how we are. It is that honest and truthful.

ThIrD
Once you move away from the mirror, on your return, it doesn't remind you of the situation it saw you before. If you had just woken up from sleep, and looked at it with disheveled looks, once well groomed, it will not tell you of your past. It is forgiving. It doesn't hold grudges. It doesn't remind you of your shameful past.

FouRtH
The mirror keeps secrets. Once you moved away from it, your image is gone with you. It will not display your image to the next person that comes along. No matter how much time you spent in front of it, and how many secrets you told it. It shall bury your secrets in itself, and never tell others.

FiFtH
Along with your faults, the mirror shows you, your beauty and perfection. Thus it is fair and encouraging. When you smile at it, it tells you what a healthy habit you have.

May Allah SWT give us the wisdom to be a mirror to our brothers and our sisters.
And may Allah SWT surround us with those who want to be mirrors.
Aamen….

Serat Wirid Hidayat Jati

Anggitanipun Panjenenganipun Raden Ngabehi Ranggawarsita.
Kapethil saking serat Jawi Kandha ing Surakarta Hadiningrat tahun 1908.

This is the Book of Mystical Teachings Telling What the Nine Saints (Wali Songo) Taught. Written by Rd. Ngabei Ranggawarsita.
Published by the Administration of (the newspaper) Jawi Kanda in Surakarta and Printed by the Press of N.V. Mij. t/v d/z ALBERT RUSCHE & CO., Surakarta,1908.

Anênggih punika pituduh ingkang sanyata, anggêlarakên dunung lan pangkating kawruh kasampurnan, winiwih saking pamêjangipun para wicaksana ing Nungsa Jawi, karsa ambuka pitêdah kasajatining kawruh kasampurnan, tutuladhan saking Kitab Tasawuf, panggêlaring wêjangan wau thukul saking kawêningan raosing panggalih, inggih cipta sasmitaning Pangeran, rinilan ambuka wêdharing pangandikaning Pangeran dhatêng Nabi. Musa, Kalamolah, ingkang suraosipun makatên: Ing sabênêr-bênêre manungsa iku kanyatahaning Pangeran, lan Pangeran iku mung sawiji.

Yes, these are true indications, setting out fully the nature and levels of spiritual knowledge, seeds sown by the wise ones of the Isle of Java in their desire to reveal the truth of the spiritual knowledge founded on the examples set forth in Sufistic books, a knowledge that grows and spreads
when the feelings are pure and clear. They are based on divine guidance permitting the revelation of these words of God to the Prophet Moses, the prophet called the Word of God: "In reality humankind is the reality of the Lord, and the Lord is One."

Pangandikaning Pangeran ingkang makatên wau, inggih punika ingkang kawêdharakên dening para gurunadi dhatêng para ingkang sami katarimah puruitanipun. Dene wontên kawruh wau, lajêng kadhapuk 8 papangkatan, sarta pamêjanganipun sarana kawisikakên ing talingan kiwa. Mangêrtosipun asung pêpengêt bilih wêdharing kawruh kasampurnan, punika botên kenging kawêjangakên dhatêng sok tiyanga, dene kengingipun kawêjangakên, namung dhatêng tiyang ingkang sampun pinaringan ilhaming Pangeran, têgêsipun tiyang ingkang sampun tinarbuka papadhanging budi pangangên-angênipun (ciptanipun).

These words of the Lord are what teachers explain to the pupils they accepted. These teachings of theirs are divided into eight levels, and they are whispered into the left ear. This is meant as a reminder that it is not permitted for spiritual knowledge to be revealed to all and sundry. It may be taught only to those who have been inspired by God, or, in other words, whose minds have been opened and enlightened.

Awit saking punika, pramila ingkang sami kasdu maos sêrat punika sayuginipun sinêmbuha nunuwun ing Pangeran, murih tinarbuka ciptaning sagêd anampeni saha angêcupi suraosing wejangan punika, awit suraosipun pancen kapara nyata yen saklangkung gawat. Mila kasêmbadanipun sagêd angêcupi punapa suraosing wêjangan punika, inggih muhung dumunung ing ndalêm raosing cipta kemawon.

That is why anyone who wishes to read this book should first ask the Lord to open his mind so that he may receive and enter into the meaning of its teachings, for they are very difficult and dangerous. The best way, so that one may enter into and know these teachings is to surrender everything completely within the feelings of one’s mind.

Mila inggih botên kenging kangge wiraosan kaliyan tiyang ingkang dereng nunggil raos, inggih ingkang dereng kêparêng angsal ilhaming Pangeran. Hewa dene sanadyana kangge wiraosing kaliyan tiyang ingkang dereng nunggil raos, wêdaling pangandika ugi mawia dudugi lan pramayogi, mangêrtosipun kêdah angen mangsa lan êmpan papan saha sinamun ing lulungidaning basa.

That is why it is not permitted to discuss them with those who have not yet experienced union, which is to say those who have not yet received divine inspiration. If they must be revealed before those who are unready, then it is necessary to be wise and cautious, meaning that one must consider the time and place and cloak the teachings in symbols and parables.

Mênggah wontêning wêwêjangan 8 pangkat wau, kados ing ngandhap punika:

As for the eight levels of this teaching, they are as follows:

I.1. Wêwêjangan ingkang rumiyin, dipun wastani: pitêdahan wahananing Pangeran, sasadan pangandikanipun Pangeran dhatêng Nabi Mohammad s.a.w. Makatên pangandikanipun: Sajatine ora ana apa-apa, awit duk maksih awang-uwung durung ana sawiji-wiji, kang ana dhihin iku ingsun, ora ana Pangeran anging ingsun sajatine kang urip luwih suci, anartani warna aran lan pakartiningsun (zat, sifat, asma, af’al).

The first of the teachings is called: knowledge of the vehicle of the Lord, as the Lord said to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, "Truly nothing exists, for when there was nothing but the empty heavens, the first thing was I (There is no Lord but I) who live in great purity throughout the levels of My form, names, and works (zat, essence; sifat, attributes; asma, names; af’al, acts)."

I.2. Mênggah dunungipun makatên: kang binasakake angandika ora ana Pangeran anging ingsun, sajatine urip kang luwih suci, sajatosipun inggih gêsang kita punika rinasuk dening Pangeran kita, mênggahing warna nama lan pakarti kita, punika sadaya saking purbawisesaning Pangeran kita, inggih kang sinuksma, têtêp tintêtêpan, inggih kang misesa, inggih kang manuksma, umpami surya lan sunaripun, mabên lan manisipun, sayêkti botên sagêd den pisaha.

As for the import of the preceding, what the Lord meant in saying "There is no Lord but I" was that life is something very holy, and in truth our lives are totally imbued with the presence of our Lord in our forms, names, and deeds, and that in truth life originates in its creation by our Lord, so that both that which is entered into and continually created and that which enters and continually creates it, are, like the sun and its rays, honey and its sweetness, inseparable.

II.1. Wêwêjangan ingkang kaping kalih, dipun wastani: Pambuka kahananing Pangeran, pamêjangipun amarahakên papangkatan adêging gêsang kita dumunung ing dalêm 7 kahanan, sasadan pangandikanipun Pangeran dhatêng Nabi Mohammad s.a.w. Makatên pangandikanipun: Satuhune ingsun Pangeran sajati, lan kawasan anitahakên sawiji-wiji, dadi padha sanalika saka karsa lan pêpêsteningsun, ing kono kanyatahane gumêlaring karsa lan pakartiningsun, kang dadi pratandha.

The second teaching is called: the opening of the state of the Lord, and it explains that our life is divided into seven levels, as the Lord told the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. He said: "I am the true Lord, and with My power I created everything, and it all came into being at once as I desired and decreed, and this creation was the realization of the unfolding of My will and acts, and it is a sign.

II.2. Kang dhihin, ingsun gumana ing dalêm awang-uwung kang tanpa wiwitan tanpa wêkasan, iya iku alam ingsun kang maksih piningit.

"First I was hidden in the empty heavens without beginning or end, in My still-separated world."

II.3. Kapindho, ingsun anganakake cahya minangka panuksmaningsun dumunung ana ing alam pasênêdaningsun.

"Second, I created light as a spirit where I could manifest Myself in the world which was My hiding place."

II.4. Kaping têlu, ingsun anganakake wawayangan minangka panuksma lan dadi rahsaningsun, dumunung ana ing alam pambabaraning wiji.

"Third, I created shadows as a place where I could manifest Myself and to be My secret self, present in the world of the multiplication of seed."

II.5. Kaping pat, ingsun anganakake suksma minangka dadi pratandha kauripaningsun, dumunung ana ing alaming gêtih.

"Fourth, I created the human spirit as a sign of My life located in the world of the blood."

II.6. Kaping lima, ingsun anganakake angên-angên kang uga dadi warnaningsun, ana ing dalêm alam kang lagi kêna kaumpamaake bae.

"Fifth, I created the thoughts which are also My form, and which are inside a world that can be explained only with comparisons."

II.7. Kaping ênêm, ingsun anganakake budi, kang minangka kanyatahan pêncaring angên-angên kang dumunung ana ing dalêm alaming badan alus.

"Sixth, I created the mind, which is a vehicle for the spreading of the thoughts present in the world of the supersensible body."

II.8. Kaping pitu, ingsun anggêlar warana kang minangka kakandhangan sakabehing paserenaningsun. Kasêbut nêm prakara ing dhuwur mau tumitah ana ing donya iya iku sajatining manungsa.

Seventh, I spread a screen to be a shelter within which I could rest from further action. All six above I created in the world as the true human nature.

A Mess Team

A couple months ago, I was being assigned to a mess team. A team which dominated by world gamers who eagerly sacrified "innocent" people for their own good shakes and ambitions. At the first time I involved, I saw they were dead, and sometimes appeared as humans with animal-head milling around me. Although my qalb could not bear the circumstances and the sense of being "intimidated", I firmly believed The Lord Majesty must have good reasons to have me in.

It was one of best learnings given by The Lord for my spiritual experience. I saw how the dead bodies and the animal-head-human worked to influence "heathly & lively" persons, dragging them in silence into their ball of game. Its form were blurr and dark, moving slowly to one another and trying to blanket all in their cover, squezzing the content and depressing the soft lathifa to close of Lord's lights upon persons, changing it hardly into dark-red plastic cover. No one could ever breath and think freshly, except ones who were protected in The Lord's Hands. The power of The Lord Majesty's light pushed their negative away of such persons. How great "war" of lights and power, was an amazing event I ever saw and felt.

Those have made me more confirmed and believed that The Lord would always be together nearestly with persons who devote truly in The Lord and uphold the truth & honesty in every single live's activity. Moreover, in their inner qalb.

Alhamdulillahirabbil 'alamin..

Shaykh ‘Ali al-Hujwiri—may Allah bless his soul—mentioned in his Kashf al-Mahjub:

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir Ibn ‘Ali Ibn Husayn Ibn Sayyidatina Fatimah Bint RasulAllah (S) said: “Tasawwuf is the name of courtesy, so the person who is the most courteous is the greatest Sufi.” Good nature is of two types—one with Allah and the other with people. Good nature with Allah means to accept whatever He gives, and be content with His decree. Good nature with people is to patiently endure their insults. Both these states are beneficial for the seeker. Allah Almighty is unaffected by either the acceptance or disobedience of the seeker, and both these conditions are a result of the theory of Oneness.

Commentary by Mawlana Wahid Bakhsh Rabbani: “When the Oneness of Being is the Truth, then affability with the people of God is also affability with Allah Almighty. All is the manifestation of One Being. With this saying of Imam al-Baqir, it is also proved that the word ‘Tasawwuf’ was extant in his time. It must be remembered that he was a Companion of the Companions.”
